Do you want to boost your Pinterest account, get more monthly viewer or maybe you want to schedule and automate your pins to save time?
I just love Pinterest and I ‘pin’ every day! I pin to get more traffic to my blog and cause it’s so much fun. Because I use Pinterest as private user, to discover and get new ideas, as well as for my business account, I know both sides of the platform.
Pinterest is a visual search engine and people use it to discover new ideas, get inspired, plan life events and everyday things. The home feed shows new ideas based on the user’s interest.
Pinterest is my main traffic source! It brings me 90% of my blog visitors. That’s why I want to focus on Pinterest and create pin-worthy content.
A lot of people underestimate Pinterest and it’s power and doesn’t include it in their marketing strategy. Even though Pinterest is free and you can use it for any niche, so it should be worth a try.

According to Pinterest, you should pin regularly and about 10-30 Pins a day. Pinning just once a week isn’t very successful for your account.
Pinterest is just awesome, it’s unbelievable how pins get spread over the platform, but it takes some time. It’s not like Facebook or Instagram, where a picture or video goes viral in less than 24 hours.
This pin got in 3 months 189.800 Impressions (that’s how often your pin got shown on Pinterest), 7.800 closeups (the pin got a closer look), 145 Saves (the pin got saved on a board) and 1.400 link clicks (clicks to your website).
(You can only see these stats on a business account. If you don’t have one yet, you can just convert yours easily to a business account for free. If you got trouble doing that or don’t get the time to do it, just let me know @ firstname.lastname@example.org)
Tailwind for Pinterest
Tailwind is an official Partner of Pinterest and a great scheduling and analytics tool, that can help you plan and pin your pins to Pinterest. It will post your pins automatically and also shows you the best times for that. That’s when the engagement of your audience is the highest, regarding your past performance on Pinterest. To use Tailwind for Pinterest, it can be also very useful while on a vacation, you can still keep up your daily pinning. Or if you’re just to busy and need to work on other things. It helps you to keep up your Pinterest activity and presence.
Tailwind has a lot of great features to offer, I like to show you a couple of them in this article.
On the image below you can see on the left side some scheduled pins and on the right, the time slots that Tailwind picked for me.
Also, the Tailwind dashboard shows the helpful features, such as the scheduled pins, the profile performance or the pin inspector.
Schedule Pins to Tailwind
You can use Tailwind for Pinterest right in the Pinterest App with a browser extension. So you will see the ‘schedule’ Tailwind button on Pinterest and can schedule a pin with a couple of clicks.
Just choose one or more boards or a board list (a saved list of your selected Pinterest boards) to save your pin to. If you want to pin it to multiple boards, you can use the interval function, so the pins getting spread over a couple of days.
Another great feature of Tailwind are the Tailwind Tribes! The Tribes are groups of like-minded people who help each other discover great new content to share with their audience. You see if a post is ‘hot’ and popular and you can schedule to pin them to any of your Pinterest boards. Every tribe has its own rules, so make sure you read them first, before pinning to the tribe. A new feature is the ‘find a tribe’ option, so you can search for tribes in your niche to join. But there are 3 types of tribes: the ‘public’ tribe where you can join without approval, the ‘request to join’ tribe where you can request to join and the last, the ‘secret’ tribe where you need an invitation to join.
You can also pin directly from Pinterest to a Tailwind Tribe with the browser extension. Tailwind also shows you if you have pinned this pin already to a tribe and when.
The Tribes are another great way to spread your content.
By signing up for Tailwind through my link we both get a free month of the Tailwind Plus Plan (regular $15) when you upgrade after your free trial. Isn’t that awesome!
You can try Tailwind for free with no time period, they let you schedule 100 pins for Pinterest and also 30 posts to Instagram. I guess this lets you figure out if you like the app or not.
Tailwind can also be used to schedule images for Instagram. On the Tailwind platform, you can easily switch between your Pinterest and Instagram account.
Just now, Instagram changed its regulations, so now Tailwind is allowed to automatically post on Instagram business accounts. Before it just sent you a notification to post your image at this time and you had to do it manually, but that has changed now. (01.30.2018)
Unfortunately it’s not working for the new Creators account yet, but hopefully, that will change soon.
One great feature is the automatic posting of a Pinterest pin to your Facebook business or fan page with one click.
Tailwind is now in the position of cross-posting to your Facebook page. The vertical pin gets customized for Facebook. Tailwind will scan your post and will use the best image for Facebook. You just need to check the box beside “post to Facebook page” and add a Facebook Description to your draft and done.
Now Tailwind will post your article automatically to Pinterest and Facebook. That will save you a lot of time and you stay active on both.
I like to invite you to try Tailwind for free and see if it helps your Pinterest Account and if you start loving it as much as I do.
Of course, I can’t give you a 100% guarantee of your success, but I promise you, you will not regret it!
By clicking on the link you get directed to the Tailwind homepage.
